Spring is "peak season" inshore for Redfish schooling in the Flats, Spotted Sea Trout blowing up on Topwater Plugs and Snook busting bait around the Docks, Mangroves and Inlets feeding on pods of schooling mullet.
Just outside Cape Canaveral off Cocoa beach, fishing for the Big Tarpon is turning on in and around the bait pods and we're catching Dolphin on the weed lines in close while fishing for King Mackerel.
Kingfish will soon be moving in close to the beach as the water warms up. And soon, you'll be able to catch both Kingfish and Tarpon just off the beach trolling menhaden on stinger rigs. Troll long for Tarpon and short for Kingfish. You can also do some Tarpon fishing by freelining live bait through the pods or Jigging them up with an ounce or so Jig.
Tripletail fishing has been good too. Just rig up a live shrimp on a popping cork rig and toss it past the fish then just reel it close and BAM! What a battle these guys are on light tackle!
