I guide out of a 2200 Ranger "shallow water" Bay Boat powered by a Yamaha 250, with a 60 gal. fuel capacity, I can run 3 times as far and twice as fast as other guides still running traditional "Flats boat". Fully loaded with myself and 2 to 3 Anglers, I can go anywhere my old Hewes flats skiff could go. She only drafts 10" of water inshore and can go offshore to fish for Big Tarpon, King Mackerel, Cobia and Tripletail on those nice summer days.
