Capt. Troy
with a Mosquito Lagoon Redfish
Florida fishing guide for Mosquito Lagoon fishing for Redfish
Hello! I'm Capt. Troy D. Nash, and I'd like to welcome you to my website Redfishing.com !

I specialize in Light Tackle Flats Fishing and Saltwater Fly fishing near the Orlando Florida area on the Indian River Lagoon, Banana River and Mosquito Lagoon fishing for Giant Redfish, Spotted Sea Trout and Snook inshore and Tarpon, Cobia and Tripletail offshore out of Cape Canaveral.

Mosquito Lagoon is just 45 minutes East of the Orlando area hotels, Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and the Orange County Convention Center.

Located on Central Florida's east coast in Brevard County. Fishing near Orlando Florida on the Indian River Lagoon, Mosquito Lagoon and Banana River is top notch and is known for it's Flats fishing for Redfish and Gator Sea Trout and has been named "Redfish Capitol of the World" Check it out on the Fishing Videos page!

Our Indian River Redfish fishing and Spotted Sea Trout fishing here on Florida's East Coast is year around. Inshore, during late Spring, Jack Crevalle and Ladyfish begin crashing Mullet and Glass Minnow pods up and down the lush grass Flats of the Mosquito Lagoon and canals of the Indian River Lagoon and Banana River making for spectacular inshore saltwater fishing near Orlando Florida.

Signifying the approach of Summer, Snook begin to arrive and can be found busting bait early in the morning near Mangroves, in canals, around docks. The best Snook fishing can be found at nearby inlets of the Indian River Lagoon and Banana River.

Tarpon fishing on Florida's east coast fishing Mosquito Lagoon fishing near Orlando FloridaThrough the Summer and into the Fall season, Tarpon can be found offshore running the Beach off Cape Canaveral as well as inshore, rolling in the residential canals of Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island in the Indian and Banana River and at times, Tarpon Fishing can be had in the deeper water flats of the North Indian River Lagoon and Mosquito Lagoon area.

When winter approaches, Sheepshead, Black Drum and Grouper fishing can be found on the edge of Flats near the deeper waters of the Indian River Lagoon, as well as everyone's local favorite, Pompano which show up in the surf of the nearby beaches and fishing along the Lagoons channel system is very productive.

Offshore fishing during late Spring and through the Fall season, when water temperatures rise above 68 degrees, many varieties of offshore Sport fishing species such as Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi and Tripletail which are pelagic fish and roam the temprate waters of the Atlantic ocean just offshore. Cape Canaveral Deep Sea Fishing and Cocoa Beach Sport fishing is mainly done from an offshore Sport fishing Charter boat.Snook fishing near Orlando Florida

Our inshore fishing is done primarily from a "Flats" or "Shallow water Bay boat" in shallow water while your guide positions you atop lush grass flats and along drop-offs teaming with bait and predatory game fish.

"Sight casting" and stalking "Tailing" Redfish in the Flats where you see their gills flare when they eat is my specialty, but casting to Spotted Sea trout lounging in potholes on the grass flats or Jumping Tarpon on fly in the residential canals of Cocoa Beach can be just as exciting!

I'm a third generation fishing Guide who grew up in the Charter fishing business, I guide FULL time, out of an 22' Ranger shallow water boat and have been a U.S.C.G. Licensed Captain (100 ton Master) for 18 years and in this business for 25 years. So, I can assure you,...I'll show you a great time while you enjoy this fantastic fishery! You can also catch me on Florida's Sunshine Network, Fox Sports and the nationally sindicated, Outdoor Life Networks "Addictive Fishing" show with Host Capt. Blair Wiggins. In fact, I did the first show that was ever produced and have done a total of five shows and a D.O.A. Lures commercial too. Check it out on the Fishing Videos page!

I have also had the opportunity to guide at such spectacular locations as "Southern Cross Club" in the Cayman Islands, B.W.I. for Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon in 1992, and worked at the "Barrimundi fish Camp" in Australia's northern territory, for Barrimundi, Australia's Snook back in 1987.

Whether it's fishing Mosquito Lagoon for Redfish on the grass beds, the Indian River with the kids for Sea Trout or jumping Tarpon and Snook in the canals of the Banana River on Fly during Summer, I've got you covered.
So,...GRAB YOUR GEAR and LET'S GO FISHING!
